The Shin Yubin-Jeon Jihee pair defeated North Korea's Cha Suyong-Park Sukyung pair (unranked) 4-1 (11-6 11-4 10-12 12-10 11-3) in the women's doubles final of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games table tennis event held on the 2nd at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.
This is the first time in 21 years since the 2002 Busan Games that Korean players have won a gold medal at the Asian Games, following the men's doubles pair Lee Cheolseung-Yu Seungmin and the women's doubles pair Seok Eunmi-Lee Eunsil.
Both players won their first-ever gold medals at a major international multi-sport event, the Asian Games. Following their gold medal at the 2021 Doha Asian Championships, they once again proved their status as one of the world's top women's doubles pairs by winning gold at the Asian Games.
