40s Man Arrested for Swinging Blunt Object at 70s Parents and Wife on Chuseok Day
No Life Threats to Three Victims Reported
A man in his 40s who inflicted serious injuries on his parents in their 70s and his wife with a blunt weapon during a Chuseok holiday property dispute was arrested.
On the 29th, the Gimcheon Police Station in Gyeongbuk arrested a man in his 40s, identified as A, on charges of attempted parricide for assaulting his parents in their 70s and his wife in her 40s with a blunt weapon. A is accused of swinging a blunt weapon at his father B (78), mother C (71), and wife D (42) around 12:47 a.m. that day, causing injuries.
The police believe that A had an argument with his parents over inheritance issues, and his wife, who tried to intervene, was also injured. All three are receiving treatment at a hospital and are in stable condition. The police responded to a report from the victims and arrested A.
