Kazakh Ambassador to Korea Visits Dong-Eui University: "Let's Collaborate on Automotive Talent"
Dong-Eui University and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Korea met to collaborate on talent development and educational programs in the automotive sector between the two countries.
As Kia Motors plans to build a second factory in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan with a completion target of 2025, Dong-Eui University is promoting global education and talent exchange in the automotive field with Kazakhstan.
Accordingly, Nurgali Arstanov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Korea, visited Dong-Eui University on the 26th to discuss specific cooperation plans.
Accompanying the ambassador on the visit were Daulet Ibrayev, Third Secretary of the Kazakhstan Embassy, and Ayan Kashabayev, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Busan.
The delegation met with Dong-Eui University President Han Su-hwan and focused on discussions about operating a professor and student exchange program between Dong-Eui University and Kostanay University of Kazakhstan, jointly developing automotive engineering education programs, and industry-academia cooperation with related companies.
After the meeting with President Han Su-hwan and his team, the delegation toured practical training and lecture facilities including the Noise and Vibration Research Lab, the Self-Built Car Laboratory, the Motor Dynamo Lab of the Department of Automotive Engineering at the College of IT Convergence Components and Materials Engineering, and the Mobility Lab of the Future Automotive Department, an early employment contract program.

Kia Motors is building a second assembly plant in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan to compensate for production gaps in Russia. Construction will begin this October with the goal of starting plant operations in 2025.
