30-Year-Old Daughter Sentenced to 25 Years for Killing Mother by Feeding Car Antifreeze
A woman in her 30s who secretly fed antifreeze to her mother in her 60s, causing her death, was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Supreme Court's 2nd Division (Presiding Justice Lee Dong-won) on the 27th upheld the 25-year prison sentence in the appeal trial of A, who was charged with killing a family member.
A was indicted for secretly feeding antifreeze to her mother B, in her 60s, at a villa in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, on September 23 of last year, resulting in her death.
A is also accused of attempting twice last year to kill B by feeding her antifreeze after being scolded by B over financial issues, but these attempts failed.
It was revealed that A squandered 40 million won in insurance money paid to B without B's knowledge and failed to repay loans secretly taken out in B's name. When it was discovered that B was being sued and that their house might be auctioned, A killed B.
