CJ Foodville announced on the 27th that CEO Kim joined the Single-Use Items Zero Challenge to promote eco-friendly management practices and reduce the usage rate of single-use items.
The Single-Use Items Zero Challenge is a campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment in February to reduce the use of single-use items in daily life for environmental protection.
CEO Kim participated in this challenge after being nominated by Cha Woo-chul, CEO of Lotte GRS. He then nominated Song Hyun-seok, CEO of Shinsegae Food, and Min Geum-chae, CEO of Jiguin Company, as the next participants.
Through this challenge, CJ Foodville plans to continuously carry out efforts to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities.
In fact, CJ Foodville is continuing various eco-friendly management activities for carbon neutrality. They are minimizing plastic use by introducing drink lids that do not require straws, 100% recyclable paper straws, and expanding discount programs for reusable cups. Additionally, they are actively expanding healthy value activities for the future, such as reducing plastic bread knives and introducing eco-friendly consumables and packaging materials. Within the company, as part of eco-friendly activities, paper cups have been eliminated in the headquarters office, and employees use personal tumblers.
