Falling for 4 Consecutive Days... KOSPI Closes Below 2460, Down Over 1%
The KOSPI fell more than 1%, declining for the fourth consecutive day.
On the 26th, the KOSPI closed at 2,462.97, down 32.79 points (1.31%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2,493.64, down 0.08% from the previous day, and widened its losses amid increased selling by foreigners and institutions.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions sold a net 45.8 billion KRW and 473.6 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals bought a net 498.7 billion KRW.
Most sectors declined. Textile and apparel and construction fell more than 2%. Financials, securities, distribution, medical precision, services, and pharmaceuticals all dropped more than 1%. In contrast, food and beverages and telecommunications rose slightly.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 68,600 KRW, down 800 KRW (1.15%) from the previous trading day. Samsung Biologics, NAVER, and KB Financial fell more than 2%, while SK Hynix, POSCO Holdings, Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Hyundai Mobis declined more than 1%. Samsung SDI rose slightly.
On this day, 151 KOSPI stocks rose, including one stock from Namseong that hit the daily upper limit. Meanwhile, 741 stocks, including Daeyu A-Tech which hit the daily lower limit, fell. Forty-one stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 827.82, down 11.35 points (1.35%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners sold a net 98.6 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and institutions bought net 59.6 billion KRW and 55.7 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, other services, telecommunications equipment, Iljang Electric & Electronics, and other manufacturing fell more than 2%, while non-metal, textile and apparel, publishing and media, machinery and equipment, telecommunications services, and IT components declined more than 1%. In contrast, financials, medical precision instruments, and food, beverages, and tobacco rose slightly.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 254,500 KRW, down 7,000 KRW (2.68%) from the previous trading day. Alteogen plunged 21.85%, and L&F and HPSP also fell more than 2%. Additionally, HLB and Pearl Abyss declined more than 1%. On the other hand, POSCO DX and Classys rose more than 4%.

On this day, 335 KOSDAQ stocks rose, including four stocks such as Gaon Group, Codaco, and Saltware that hit the daily upper limit. Meanwhile, 1,205 stocks, including Winia Aid and Xperix which hit the daily lower limit, fell. Sixty-six stocks remained unchanged.
