Busan Port Authority Promotes Innovation Technology Cooperation with Israel Ashdod Port
Busan Port Authority (BPA) is promoting cooperation on innovative port technologies with Ashdod Port, Israel's largest port.
On the 21st, BPA held a virtual 'Port Innovation Project and Innovation Technology Information Exchange Meeting' with Ashdod Port Company to discuss cooperation measures.
Ashdod Port is Israel's largest port and a major economic gateway, located 40 km from Tel Aviv, the largest city in Israel.
Ashdod Port Company is focusing on innovation in the port and logistics sectors by leveraging Israel's strengths in excellent human resources and diverse technology bases.
Recently, it established an innovation network called the 'Innovation Embassy,' sharing information on advanced innovative technologies with global ports, operators, shipping companies, and tech firms, seeking joint development.
At the information exchange meeting, BPA introduced various R&D projects and innovative technologies being promoted at Busan Port, such as smart logistics, digital twin, and autonomous ships. It also explained the goals related to safety, efficiency, and security, which are the key innovation areas of Busan Port.
Ashdod Port Company agreed to share information on Ashdod Port's innovative technologies and solutions to support efficient operations in Busan Port, particularly in safety, efficiency improvement, and security enhancement.
Furthermore, Busan Port Authority and Ashdod Port Company agreed to develop solutions through joint research on common issues faced by ports worldwide, such as safety and operational efficiency, and to share these solutions with other ports to contribute to the improvement of the global supply chain.
BPA plans to continue discussions with Ashdod Port Company to establish and promote specific cooperation measures.
