107 Unsold Public Facility Sites in Gyeonggi-do... Sale and Resolution Efforts Underway
It has been identified that 107 public facility sites in Gyeonggi-do remain unsold, totaling an area of 660,000㎡.
On the 26th, Gyeonggi-do announced that after inspecting the unsold status of public facility sites (both public and private) in 30 residential and public housing districts in the province that have been completed for over two years, 107 sites (660,000㎡) were found to be unsold. Gyeonggi-do conducts inspections of unsold sites once each in the first and second halves of the year.
In the second half of this year, from August 30 to September 22, a total of 145 sites were targeted, including 115 sites in 19 land development districts and 30 sites in 11 public housing districts, to check ▲ the utilization status and plans for unsold public facility sites ▲ the purchase intentions of designated purchasing institutions for the respective sites ▲ purchase plans and reasons for purchase abandonment ▲ and the status of use change promotion for sites abandoned for purchase.
The inspection results showed that 107 sites remain unsold. Among these, 57 sites have purchasing institutions that intend to buy but are in a ‘pending’ status due to reasons such as lack of budget or insufficient administrative demand. The remaining 50 sites are those for which designated purchasing institutions have abandoned purchase, and use changes through district unit plan amendments are being reviewed and promoted.
In particular, for the concentrated management districts of Yongin Guseong, Heungdeok, and Paju Unjeong, through meetings with related agencies, purchasing institutions such as the Office of Education and fire stations were encouraged to confirm their purchase intentions and make early decisions on pending sites. For sites abandoned for purchase, cooperation was requested from related cities, counties, and project implementers to enable early sales through applicable promotional measures such as district unit plan amendments, use changes, price reassessments, and relaxation of payment conditions.
