Hosted by the Seongdong Cultural Foundation and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the ‘High School Fashion Contest’ was organized to nurture creative talents who will lead the future fashion industry. Hyoungji Elite has participated for eight years since the first contest, awarding scholarships to winners and contributing to the discovery and development of fashion talents.

This year’s High School Fashion Contest saw high school students from all over the country applying, reflecting the passionate interest of youth in the fashion industry. The themes for this year’s works were ‘Eco-friendly,’ ‘Hallyu (Korean Wave),’ ‘Smart Cultural City,’ and ‘Monami Look,’ with works showcasing the unique perspectives and creativity of young people.

Among all the submitted works, a total of 77 pieces passed the preliminary screening and advanced to the finals, where they enhanced their works’ completeness through mentoring days with industry experts. As a result, 25 eco-friendly pieces, 19 Hallyu pieces, 12 Smart Cultural City pieces, and 21 Monami Look pieces, totaling 77 works, were presented on the final judging stage. The final judging panel, consisting of fashion industry leaders, professors, and active designers, conducted a rigorous evaluation based on theme relevance, creativity, and completeness.

As a result of the judging, the Hyoungji Elite Award was given to Kim Eun-oh from Seguru Fashion Design High School, and the Castelbajac Award was awarded to Seo Ye-rin from Seongdeok High School (entrusted to Korea Fashion Practical School). Kim Nam-yong, Head of the Elite Business Division at Hyoungji Elite, who presented the awards, encouraged the fashion talents by awarding each student a certificate and a scholarship of 1 million KRW.

A representative of Hyoungji Elite said, “It was a meaningful event to glimpse the future of the fashion industry through the youth who competed fiercely with fresh and high-quality works,” adding, “We will continue to support the nurturing of next-generation designers who will lead the Korean fashion industry.”
