View original imageThe Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), an R&D support organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced that following the enforcement of the Industrial Technology Innovation Promotion Act approved by the National Assembly in May, it will be newly launched as the "Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation" starting from the 21st.
Accordingly, since its establishment in May 2009, KEIT has decided to include "Planning" instead of "Management" in its institution name. KEIT explained that with this name change, it plans to ▲strengthen R&D planning functions to lead ultra-gap technology development, ▲promote the expansion of materials, parts, and equipment sectors and international cooperation for a robust supply chain, and ▲establish a full-cycle R&D responsibility management system to maximize innovation outcomes.
Jeon Yoon-jong, President of KEIT, stated, "KEIT is starting anew with the institution name change to meet customer demands and the mission of the times," adding, "All employees will carry a special pride and sense of responsibility to fulfill their mission as 'promoters of technology-driven innovative growth and technology-based industrial powerhouse.'"
