On the 20th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul sent Jung (45) and Lee (31) to the prosecution under custody on charges including violation of the Narcotics Control Act. At around 8:30 a.m., as they exited the police station, they boarded a transport vehicle without responding to reporters' questions such as "Do you admit the charges?", "How did you purchase the drugs?", and "Are there more participants in the gathering?".
They are suspected of hosting the gathering and using drugs at an apartment in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where Officer A of the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency fell to his death on the 27th of last month. Jung provided his apartment as the venue for the gathering, and the police believe Lee purchased and supplied the drugs for the meeting. They were detained on the 11th.
The police have identified that 22 people attended the gathering. The attendees stated to the police that they gathered to celebrate the birthdays of Jung and Lee, which were one day apart. Most of the attendees tested positive in drug tests. The police detected evidence that Lee purchased narcotics in the restroom of an Itaewon club two weeks prior to the gathering, and they have seized the club and secured CCTV footage, focusing their investigation on whether the group drug use was premeditated.

Evidence was also found that the active-duty police officer who fell had engaged in drug transactions. On the 14th, Judge Jeong In-jae, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Western District Court, conducted a pre-arrest hearing for Moon (35) and issued an arrest warrant citing "risk of evidence destruction and flight." Moon is suspected of selling drugs to Officer A. Police Chief Yoon Hee-geun stated, "We regret that a police officer, entrusted with the duty to enforce the law, was involved in such an incident" and added, "We will conduct a swift and thorough investigation without any suspicion."
