Tae Yong-ho: "There Was a Devil's Deal Between North Korea and Russia"
"North Korea and Russia Exchange What Each Wants"
"The Core of North Korea-Russia Cooperation is Military Cooperation"
Rep. Taeyongho of the People Power Party said on the 18th about the recently concluded North Korea-Russia summit, "Simply put, I believe there was a 'deal with the devil,'" adding, "I am very concerned."
In an interview with YTN Radio's 'News King Park Jihoon' on the 18th, Rep. Tae said, "Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is under intense pressure due to the Ukraine war, received a firm promise from Kim Jong-un that he would supply the weapons he desires in greater quantities," and added, "For now, Putin has gained a lot, and from Kim Jong-un's perspective, I believe he returned having obtained much to advance North Korea's future goals."
He continued, "Circumstantially, Russia has shown a strong will to openly defy international sanctions while the world is watching," and pointed out, "First, Kim Jong-un's 5-night, 6-day visit to Russia was the longest ever, and Russia arranged the itinerary by selectively choosing only what North Korea most wanted and what the world is most concerned about."
He added, "Another point is that when looking closely at the statements of Russian officials, there are many very worrisome remarks," and criticized, "Putin said, 'We will engage in possible deals and weapons cooperation within the framework of UN sanctions,' but the very concept of UN sanctions means that no arms deals should occur between North Korea and Russia."

Rep. Tae said, "Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia was accompanied by the defense minister, but normally when a head of state visits another country, the prime minister, presidential office, or ministers accompany them. Where in the world does the defense minister accompany the entire period?" and added, "Ultimately, this shows that the core of North Korea-Russia cooperation is military cooperation."
