Gochang-gun to Host Lecture by Writer Yusimian on the 21st
Gochang County in Jeollabuk-do announced on the 18th that it will hold a special lecture by writer Yoo Si-min at the Gochang Cultural Center on the 21st to celebrate the ‘2023 Gochang Visit Year for World Heritage Cities.’
The lecture, held in two sessions, will first take place at 10 a.m. for Gochang residents under the theme ‘Is Our Democracy Okay As It Is?’
At 3 p.m., Yoo Si-min will deliver a keynote speech at the Jeollabuk-do Community Security Council Capacity Building Conference held at Seonunsan Youth Hostel.
Writer Yoo Si-min graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics and completed a master's program in Economics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany. He served as a member of the 16th and 17th National Assembly and as the 44th Minister of Health and Welfare.
His major works include Reading World History Backwards (2021 revised edition), European City Travels (2019), Reading in Youth (2017), The Art of Expression (2016), Yoo Si-min’s Writing (2015), The Economics of the Rich and the Poor (2014), and How Shall We Live? (2013), among many others.
Recently, he has continued his active career as a writer by presenting a new paradigm of knowledge and culture that combines scientific thinking and humanities reflection with his book Science Study for Men in the Humanities.
