Doosan Enerbility Collaborates with Western Power to Advance Domestic Technology
MOU for Technical Exchange between Gimpo Cogeneration and Taean IGCC Power Plants
Doosan Enerbility will collaborate with Korea Western Power to advance domestic power generation technology and optimize power plant operations.
Doosan Enerbility announced on the 18th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on technical exchange and cooperation for the stabilization of the Gimpo combined heat and power (CHP) facility and responsible maintenance of the Taean IGCC. The signing ceremony, held on the 15th at Bundang Doosan Tower in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, was attended by Park Hyung-seok, President of Korea Western Power, Jung Yeon-in, President of Doosan Enerbility, and other officials from both companies.
The two companies pledged mutual cooperation to optimize the operation of the Gimpo CHP plant and the Taean IGCC power plant. As the operators of the two power plants, Korea Western Power will share operational data of each facility, and based on this, Doosan Enerbility will be responsible for power plant performance and equipment stabilization. IGCC (Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle) is a clean coal power generation technology that gasifies coal at high temperature and high pressure to produce synthetic gas as fuel.
