Seoul City Holds 'Investment Attraction Battle' in London with FSC and Financial Companies
Jang Cheol-won, Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, Introduces Financial Competitiveness
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that on the 13th (local time), it jointly held an investment attraction event promoting the Korean financial industry and financial hub together with the Financial Supervisory Service, local governments (Busan City), and financial institutions (Shinhan Financial Group, Woori Financial Group, Mirae Asset Securities, NH Investment & Securities, Samsung Life Insurance, Korean Reinsurance).
This London investment attraction event was the first large-scale overseas investment attraction on-site collaboration involving the Financial Supervisory Service, financial hub, and major financial companies, aimed at supporting the internationalization of the Korean financial industry.

In the opening session and panel discussion, he stated, "Seoul is equipped with world-class digital infrastructure," adding, "With a large population using digital financial services and rapidly advancing technology trends, it is a city with high growth potential in the digital financial industry." He then introduced various benefits supporting foreign financial companies established in the Yeouido International Financial Center, as well as plans to improve residential environments and infrastructure for foreign financial workers. Incentives were also presented to encourage global companies and investors to actively invest in Seoul.
The London investment attraction event was attended by major overseas investors such as global asset management firms Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Savills Investment Management, Ninety One, sovereign wealth funds, and officials from the UK government who are active in London.
Meanwhile, this London investment attraction event was the second such activity conducted by Seoul this year, and the city plans to continuously manage financial institutions interested in "Seoul" from both the first and second investment attraction events.

Deputy Mayor Kang said, "Seoul is the first gateway for investment in the Republic of Korea and a stepping stone for nationwide investment attraction, and the competitiveness of the financial hub is a measure of the national economic power." He added, "Since establishing the 2021 Asia Financial Hub City Seoul Master Plan, Seoul has been steadily carrying out the Yeouido Financial Hub project, and aims to make Seoul one of the world's top five financial cities by 2030 to enhance national competitiveness."
