People Power Party: "Second Cabinet Reshuffle Requires Talented Personnel to Restore the System Collapsed Under Moon Administration"
President Yoon "Nomination of Minister Candidates Shin Won-sik, Yoo In-chon, Kim Haeng"
Yoo Sang-beom "Will proceed with great reform at a rapid pace"
The People Power Party explained the second cabinet reshuffle, which involves replacing the Ministers of National Defense, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Gender Equality and Family, as "a strong expression of the will to tighten the reins on areas where there is a need to lead greater transformation in our society with a sense of urgency."
On the 13th, Yoo Sang-beom, the chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, evaluated President Yoon Seok-yeol's announcement of Shin Won-sik as the nominee for Minister of National Defense, Yoo In-chon for Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Kim Haeng for Minister of Gender Equality and Family, saying, "It will be a government that works for the people."
Spokesperson Yoo said, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration has refrained from showy cabinet reshuffles based on political interests and has devoted all efforts to forming a government that can work efficiently solely for the people and their livelihoods," adding, "Since the national system was broken down in many areas during the previous Moon administration, it is necessary to place the best talents in the right positions to quickly restore and lead change."
Regarding this personnel change, he explained, "At this point as the Yoon Seok-yeol government enters its second year, it is a strong expression of the will to tighten the reins on areas where there is a need to lead greater transformation in our society with a sense of urgency."
About nominee Shin, he said, "Considering the rapidly changing world order and especially the unstable security situation in Northeast Asia, he is a person with abundant experience who can respond quickly," adding, "In particular, his experience working at the ROK-US Combined Forces Command makes him a suitable candidate to lead the ROK-US alliance well."
Regarding nominee Yoo, he introduced him as "a person who has long been active as an artist and has a high understanding of the cultural and artistic environment, and who also served as the same ministry’s vice minister in 2008, contributing to the prosperity of K-Culture based on his experience."
About nominee Kim, he explained, "As a journalist, she has firsthand experience observing various aspects of our society, and having served as the president of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, she has a very high level of understanding in related fields."
