Youth-led Youth Festival with Youth Planning and Execution... 'Street Dance Festival' on the 15th, 'Cheongnyeon Toktok (Talk Show)', 'Golmok Daejang (Memory Play Experience Booth)' on the 16th
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is providing various opportunities for unity under the theme "Youth's Dream, Gwanak Shining with Hope and Passion!" in celebration of Youth Day (September 16), aiming to capture the attention of local youth.
From September 15 to September 17, the district will host the 5th Gwanak Youth Festival, centered on youth, for youth, and by youth, around the Byeolbitnaerincheon area. The festival's slogan is "StarLight Gwanak!", symbolizing the sparkling starlight that shines like youth.
First, the eve event on the 15th will begin with a 'Job Special Lecture' that offers help and hope for youth planning their futures.
Employment expert Jo Eun-hee from Hackers Job will present practical information and proper guidance for successful job hunting under the theme "If You Know ??, You Pass the Interview. Why Are Interviews Scary!"
Following this, there will be a ‘Bangguseok Concert’ providing performance opportunities for young artists and a ‘Street Dance Festival,’ offering enjoyable live performances to youth who are socially and economically exhausted.
The ‘Bangguseok Concert’ features six teams selected through a prior contest, showcasing energetic stages full of talent and excitement in dance and music. The ‘Street Dance’ competition includes four teams (Popping, Hip-hop, Girls Hip-hop, Locking) and passionate performances by dance teams including the world champion choreography team ‘Deathspot Crew.’
The main event on the 16th at 1 PM will feature ‘Youth TokTok,’ a talk show with a popular figure leading current trends. Special guest Tanaka (comedian Kim Kyung-wook) will appear to share stories about his twenties, support youth, and add fun with various games.
Afterwards, a ‘Healing Employment Talk Concert’ with HR managers, current workers, and musicians will follow. Youth attendees can hear expert solutions to employment concerns and enjoy comforting performances by singer-songwriters.
Additionally, on this day, besides exciting performances, experience booths for local youth to enjoy together will be set up. Notably, ‘Golmok Daejang,’ a retro-themed nostalgic journey, was directly planned by YouTuber ‘Gwagamhan Insaeng’ and will offer fun activities such as playing ttakji (Korean paper tile game) and flying paper planes for residents to participate in.
Along with this, ‘Soulburns,’ selected as Seoul’s representative B-boy crew this year, will perform a ‘Breaking Performance,’ and rapper ‘Mushvenom,’ beloved by various groups, will hold a special celebratory performance for Youth Day.
To perfectly conclude the festival, cleaning cannot be overlooked. On the final day, the 17th, a plogging event (picking up trash while jogging) will be held with youth organizations, cleaning the Byeolbitnaerincheon area and closing the festival.
