Sacheon-si Promotes Safe Restaurant Designation System to Enhance Competitiveness of Dining Industry
Spread of Advanced Food Culture
40 Additional Safe Restaurants Designated
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 12th that it will designate and operate Safe Restaurants to spread hygienic and advanced dining culture in the food service industry, aiming to enhance consumer trust in dining out and improve the competitiveness of the dining industry.
This year, the city plans to designate a total of 40 additional Safe Restaurants, and existing designated Safe Restaurants will maintain their status.
Safe Restaurants must comply with three mandatory designation requirements: ▲providing utensils for serving food separately ▲hygienic management of spoons and chopsticks ▲employees wearing masks, as well as adhering to the Food Sanitation Act.
The selection target is limited to restaurants that serve general food among general and rest food establishments. Model restaurants or hygiene grade designated businesses are prioritized and designated through on-site verification without a separate application.
Meanwhile, general restaurants will be designated after on-site verification upon application by the business owner.
