Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Provides Scholarships of 1 to 1.2 Million KRW to 245 Children of Neighboring Residents
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Kim Han-seong) announced on the 11th that it has provided scholarships to the children of residents living in the areas surrounding Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant, including Yangnam-myeon, Munmu Daewang-myeon, and Gampo-eup in Gyeongju City.
The Wolseong Headquarters received applications from 245 local residents or their children who have continuously lived in the surrounding areas for more than three years and are currently university students, and distributed a total of 260 million KRW, ranging from 1 million to 1.2 million KRW per person.
In addition, the Wolseong Headquarters is conducting a scholarship review event for university students until the 18th. The participants include 490 scholarship recipients and their parents, and participation is possible via mobile phones. All participants will receive two coffee gifticons, and five outstanding essay writers will be awarded gifticons worth approximately 50,000 KRW.

Kim Han-seong, head of the Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “The Wolseong Headquarters continuously implements scholarship support projects to alleviate the financial burden of tuition for local residents and to motivate students to study,” adding, “We hope that the students in the region will grow into outstanding talents and become the foundation for regional and national development.”
