Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital Hosts Symposium on 'Future Medicine and Cancer Specialty Hospital'
The Future Medical Research Group at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 11th that it will hold its second symposium on the theme of ‘Future Medicine and Cancer Specialty Hospitals’ at the hospital auditorium on the 13th.
The symposium will begin with an opening address by Kang Dae-hee, professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine and head of the Future Medical Research Group, followed by a welcome speech from Jeong Yong-yeon, director of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, congratulatory remarks from Ahn Young-geun, director of Chonnam National University Hospital, and Ahn Do-geol, former vice minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and will proceed with presentations and discussions.
In the first part of the symposium, chaired by Park Sang-chul, endowed professor at Chonnam National University, presentations will be given by Lee Hye-jin, professor at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital (Health Management for the Super-Aged Society: Medical Care and Nursing, Frailty Prevention), Han Jong-su, professor at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital Health Promotion Center (Cancer Prevention and Screening Center), Kang Dae-hee, professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine (Personalized Cancer Prevention: Hexamed Case), and Lee Seung-hwan, professor at Seoul National University Hospital Clinical Trial Center (Future-Oriented Clinical Trial Center in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution), proposing directions to strengthen Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital’s research capabilities and expand biomedical research areas.
The second part of the symposium, chaired by Beom Hee-seung, chairman of the advisory committee of the Future Medical Research Group and director of Hwasun County Nursing Hospital, will conclude with presentations by Ko Gwang-pil, professor at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital Clinical Preventive Medicine Center (Establishing Policies to Foster Jeonnam’s Specialized Digital Biohealth Industry Centered on Cancer Prevention Management), and Jeong Yong-yeon, director of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, on ‘Future Hospitals and Development Strategies of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital.’

Director Jeong Yong-yeon said, “Following the first symposium held in July, this second symposium is part of our preparations to become a leader in building smart hospitals through the rapidly changing medical industry, AI-based bio convergence research fields, and future-oriented cancer specialty hospitals,” adding, “It will be an opportunity to explore progressive strategies regarding the roles of clinical trial centers for the super-aged society, cancer prevention and diagnosis, and new drug development.”
