Recently, there have been cases where perpetrators violated restraining orders and approached victims again in stalking crimes. This can lead to serious felonies, raising concerns about violations of restraining orders.
Through this agreement, Seongdong-gu plans to automatically send voice messages containing warnings and persuasion when perpetrators contact victims by phone, encouraging compliance with restraining orders and preventing secondary harm and other crimes.
The Seongdong Police Station will inform victims of stalking and domestic violence crimes about this project. When victims apply for the project, the provided guidance voice will be transmitted through the victim’s telecommunications provider. Seongdong-gu will support the service usage fees and assist with counseling support through cooperation with related organizations.
In September 2022, Seongdong-gu cooperated with the Seongdong Police Station and Hanyang University Hospital to implement the ‘Simplified Medical Expense Support for Crime Victims’ project, making it easier and more convenient to receive medical expense support.
To prevent indiscriminate crimes occurring one after another, Seongdong-gu supports safe late-night returns home through the Safe Return Scout program and conducts focused patrols in mountainous parks and riverside areas. In particular, at the end of August, the ‘Trail Crime Prevention System’ was introduced in two parks, Eungbongsan Neighborhood Park and Dalmaji Park, enabling real-time CCTV video monitoring through QR codes installed throughout the parks.
