Mokpo City Implements Voluntary Odd-Even Vehicle Restriction for Citizens During National Sports Festival
Request for All Citizens to Participate in Autonomous Vehicle Odd-Even System for Smooth Traffic Flow
Implemented Across Mokpo City for 9 Days from October 11 to 19
Mokpo City will implement a voluntary odd-even vehicle restriction system for citizens throughout the city to support smooth vehicle traffic for athletes and event officials during the 104th National Sports Festival, which will be held from the 13th of next month.
Mokpo City is accelerating preparations for the National Sports Festival, the first national-level sports grand event to be held primarily in the city since its opening as a port.
In particular, since transportation is a field that visitors directly experience, the city is carefully devising various measures to ensure nothing is neglected. The implementation of the voluntary odd-even vehicle restriction system for citizens is expected to be a good opportunity to instill a positive perception that the event is not only supported by mature civic awareness but also prepared and participated in by all citizens.

According to the city on the 8th, the voluntary odd-even vehicle restriction system for citizens, which will be implemented for nine days from the 11th to the 19th of next month, will restrict vehicles with odd-numbered license plates from operating on odd-numbered days and vehicles with even-numbered license plates from operating on even-numbered days. The target vehicles are non-commercial passenger cars and vans with up to 10 seats.
However, exceptions apply to vehicles for the disabled, national merit recipients, diplomatic or press use, pregnant women, infants accompanied, and vehicles from other cities or provinces.
To foster voluntary and active participation among citizens, the city plans to conduct extensive promotional activities through various media, request cooperation from related organizations and groups, and carry out multifaceted activities to encourage participation in the odd-even system, such as street campaigns through neighborhood-level action teams linked with the citywide movement "Creating a Hopeful Mokpo."
