The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters achieved the policy goal of "zero casualties" through proactive safety measures targeting fire-vulnerable facilities and effective prevention measures reflecting regional characteristics.
In particular, it received high marks for strengthening the fire safety network by distributing customized safety facilities such as visual alarm detectors for vulnerable groups including the hearing impaired and basic livelihood security recipients, and for securing the safety of residents' living spaces through meticulous, close-contact special policies managing evacuation-vulnerable facilities.
Chief Kim Suhwan said, "This achievement is a valuable result proving that the detailed safety measures developed according to Jeju’s circumstances are ensuring safety in every corner of residents’ lives," and added, "We will continue to actively strive to create a safe Jeju based on customized fire prevention measures needed for Jeju."
