Seoul Fashion Week Opens on the 5th... Fashion Shows by 30 Brands
The 2024 S/S (Spring/Summer) Seoul Fashion Week will be held from the 5th to the 9th of this month at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, the city announced on the 3rd.
This year, Seoul Fashion Week has moved its schedule up by one month to showcase next season's fashion trends ahead of the world's four major fashion weeks (New York, Paris, Milan, London) and to increase participation from major overseas buyers.
A total of 30 brands will present runway shows over five days. This includes 21 top domestic designer brands, 8 emerging designer brands, and 1 corporate brand.
On the opening day, NewJeans, the global ambassador for Seoul Fashion Week, will appear at the official photocall. Additionally, in collaboration with Hyundai Department Store, a special runway combining fashion and art (9 shows) has been prepared. The runway shows will be live on-site and can also be viewed through the official Seoul Fashion Week YouTube channel.
The largest trade show in the fashion industry in Korea will feature 94 domestic fashion companies, 127 overseas buyers from 27 countries, and domestic fashion-related distribution and investment companies.
Returning participants include France's Printemps department store and the U.S. select shop brand 3NY, while Italy's luxury select shop brand Eraldo, the UK's Liberty London department store, France's Bon March? department store, and Japan's Isetan department store will participate for the first time.
On the last day, the 9th, general admission is allowed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and visitors can purchase products from designer brands participating in the trade show directly on-site.
Participatory programs have been prepared for fashion industry insiders as well as citizens and domestic and international tourists to enjoy together.

At the DDP outdoor Eoullim Square, a program allowing visitors to experience AI hologram photoshoot will be operated, and at the Igan Sumun Exhibition Hall, a special exhibition titled "ADSB X JP Bonino" featuring the famous domestic fashion brand Anderson Bell and Uruguayan photographer JP Bonino will be held.
