Muan-gun Prepares to Renovate Closed Muan High School into a Cultural and Arts Space
Holding a Community Promotion Meeting for Cultural Regeneration Projects Utilizing Closed Schools
Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held a 'Former Muan High School Cultural Regeneration Project Resident Briefing Session' on the 30th of last month at the small auditorium of the Muan Seungdal Culture and Arts Center.
According to the county on the 1st, this resident briefing session was organized to inform the residents about the purpose of the Muan High School Cultural Regeneration Project being promoted by Muan County, share the progress and future plans, and was attended by about 100 people including residents, students, and the general planner.

View original imageThe cultural regeneration project is an initiative to revitalize the abandoned former Muan High School by breathing new life into the space and recreating it as a public cultural and artistic space representing Muan-eup. As of September, the project has undergone preliminary preparations such as establishing a basic plan, public architecture planning review, and seismic reinforcement work, and is preparing for a design competition for the remodeling construction.
At the briefing session, after an explanation of the project purpose and a progress report by General Planner Kim Jong-gyu, the session proceeded with listening to residents' opinions and a Q&A session. In particular, residents' questions about the cultural regeneration project did not cease, confirming the high interest of the residents in the 'Muan High School Cultural Regeneration Project.'
Governor Kim San stated, "The cultural regeneration project is a project to rebuild the old and worn-out closed school into a cultural and artistic space for the residents. I hope you will show generous interest and provide opinions so that the former Muan High School can be transformed into a better space."
