The integrated pipe rack construction project, which involves reorganizing aging underground pipelines within the Ulsan Petrochemical Complex, is set to commence in earnest.
On the 31st at 2:30 PM, Ulsan City announced that it will hold the "Ulsan Petrochemical Complex Integrated Pipe Rack Construction Project Working Council" at the council office within the petrochemical complex.
About 40 people will attend the council meeting, including working-level managers from 29 investment companies, Ulsan Urban Corporation as the project executing agency, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and representatives from institutions involved in the basic design.
During the meeting, Ulsan City will share the progress and future schedule of the integrated pipe rack construction project following the joint MOU signing with participating companies on March 22 to officially launch the pipe rack project, and the agreement signed with Ulsan Urban Corporation on April 26 as the executing agency.
The agenda will also cover key project progress, regulatory improvements related to above-ground pipeline installation (such as road and distance separations) and response plans, the status of the detailed design service and future procedures, plans for organizing and operating the working council and the general committee, and opinions on signing private sector contribution investment agreements.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "The integrated pipe rack construction project will eliminate risks caused by aging and overcrowding of underground buried pipes in the petrochemical complex and significantly improve operational efficiency of companies through smooth mutual supply of raw materials and products." They added, "We plan to cooperate closely with investment and participating companies, as well as related organizations, to ensure the successful completion of this project."
The Ulsan Petrochemical Complex Integrated Pipe Rack Construction Project involves a total budget of 70.9 billion KRW (16.8 billion KRW from the national government and 54.1 billion KRW from private sector contributions) to build 3.55 km of pipe rack structures above ground within the Ulsan Petrochemical Complex.
