Accused of Holding Hands Without Permission
A local influential figure, Mr. A, who sexually harassed a female police officer who came out to entertain at a reception hosted by the police station chief, has been referred to the prosecution.
On the 30th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that it had sent an 80-year-old man, Mr. A, to the prosecution on charges of forcible sexual harassment the previous day. In April, the chief of the Geumho Police Substation under the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul called Officer Park, his subordinate, to a dining event with Mr. A.
Officer Park stated that the police station chief introduced Mr. A as a local influential figure and referred to Officer Park as the police station chief’s secretary, asking her to peel fruit. At this event, Mr. A is accused of grabbing Officer Park’s hand without permission.

A police official said, “The case has been referred to the prosecution,” and added, “We cannot disclose specific details such as whether the charges are admitted, as it is an ongoing investigation.”
