SK Telecom announced on the 30th that it will hold a send-off ceremony to wish success to eight national team athletes sponsored by the company and SK Group who are participating in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. The send-off ceremony, held at the Euljiro headquarters in Seoul, will be attended by eight athletes including ‘Faker’ Lee Sang-hyeok (eSports), ‘Wing’ Kim Heon-woo (Breaking), Oh Sang-wook, Song Se-ra (Fencing), Kim Sun-hyung (Basketball), Son Ji-in (Rhythmic Gymnastics), Jo Hyun-joo (Skateboarding), and high jumper Choi Jin-woo, who will share their determination for the Asian Games along with their personal medal pledges.
SKT is expanding its sponsorship scope to include amateur and future-oriented sports for balanced sports development, newly supporting various disciplines such as athletics, weightlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, skateboarding, and breaking. Starting with this event, SKT plans to launch an online nationwide cheering campaign called ‘The Great Journey - We Are Team Korea’ not only for its sponsored athletes but for the entire Team Korea delegation, aiming to raise the enthusiasm for support.
Through the campaign continuing during the Asian Games, SKT will introduce the intense preparation process of the athletes and share the passionate emotions brought by sports. Documentary videos capturing the training and daily lives of national team athletes in swimming, fencing, eSports, and breaking will be sequentially released on SKT’s own sports marketing YouTube channel SKLIKE and A. tv.
