Putin Has No Plans to Attend Prigozhin's Funeral
Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the funeral of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group, who recently died in a plane crash, major foreign media reported on the 29th (local time).
According to the reports, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, responded to journalists' questions about whether President Putin would attend Prigozhin's funeral by saying, "The president's attendance is not planned," and added, "The arrangements for Prigozhin's funeral are decided by his family, and the Kremlin has no information on this."
Prigozhin, a close aide to President Putin, attempted a coup in June but halted it following mediation by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. Later, on the 23rd, he boarded a plane traveling from Moscow to Saint Petersburg, which crashed, resulting in his death.
