Prosecutors Reapply Arrest Warrant for Pro Golfer An Seong-hyun Over Billions in 'Coin Listing' Bribes
Lee Sang-jun, CEO of Bithumb Holdings, Also Subject to Arrest Warrant Request
The prosecution has refiled an arrest warrant for professional golfer An Seong-hyun, who is accused of deceiving people by promising to list virtual assets and receiving billions of won in bribes.
On the 29th, the prosecution applied for arrest warrants for An and Lee Sang-jun, CEO of Bithumb Holdings, who is suspected of soliciting virtual asset listing favors.
Judge Yoo Hwan-woo, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Southern District Court, scheduled a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for An at 2 p.m. on September 1.
Lee is accused of receiving bribes from Kang Jong-hyun (41), suspected to be the actual owner of Bithumb, in exchange for listing certain virtual assets on Bithumb Korea. An is known as a close friend of Kang and a professional golfer. An is also accused of conspiring with a Bithumb exchange listing staff member to receive billions of won from a specific virtual asset company by promising to list their assets.

The prosecution had previously requested an arrest warrant for An in April, but the court dismissed it. After supplementary investigations, the prosecution refiled the arrest warrant for An on this day.
