Kim In, Acting President of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea, announced on the 29th that "we will closely cooperate with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Management Innovation Committee, and the Pan-Government Saemaeul Geumgo Task Force to establish organizational stabilization measures and management innovation plans to report to customers."
In a statement released that day, Acting President Kim said, "I sincerely apologize with a bowed head for the unfortunate incident that occurred," and added, "We will make painstaking reforms and strenuous efforts so that Saemaeul Geumgo can regain trust and truly become a financial institution for the common people."
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety suspended the duties of Park Cha-hoon, President of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea, on the 24th after he was indicted on charges of receiving money and valuables from asset management company representatives. Subsequently, the National Credit Union Federation of Korea transitioned to an acting president system under Vice President Kim In.
Acting President Kim has received reports on major issues and is known to be attending work at the National Credit Union Federation of Korea to manage affairs. He also plans to strengthen supervisory functions and prepare improvement measures for the internal control system regarding the financial incident.
