Hong Nampyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, who was on trial for violating the Public Official Election Act, was transported to a hospital on the 28th after complaining of dizziness during the 13th hearing held at Changwon District Court.
Throughout the trial, Mayor Hong was unable to open his eyes properly and repeatedly touched his forehead, eventually collapsing on the defendant's bench and unable to get up.
The court nurse measured Mayor Hong's blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer, recording it at 208/98 mmHg.

Showing symptoms of hypertension, Mayor Hong was urgently taken to the hospital by the arriving 119 emergency medical team, and the trial, which began at 10 a.m., was adjourned around 11:20 a.m. that day.
