Hive Original Webtoon 'Dark Moon' Appears at Lotte World
Implementation of 'Dark Moon with ENHYPEN in Lotte World'
SPAO launches 5 fashion items featuring 'Dark Moon' IP
First external brand collaboration using the IP
HYBE's original story ‘DARK MOON: Dal-ui Jedan (hereafter, Dark Moon: Dal-ui Jedan)’ is being experienced beyond webtoons at Lotte World. On the 28th, HYBE announced, "We are collaborating with Lotte World Adventure and SPAO to realize ‘Dark Moon’ as a theme park festival and present it as fashion items." This is the first time HYBE has collaborated with external brands using its original story IP (intellectual property).
‘Dark Moon: Dal-ui Jedan’ is an original story collaborated with the group ENHYPEN. It is serialized on Naver Webtoon in the form of webtoons and web novels. The work is an urban fantasy high-teen romance genre depicting the grand destiny of seven vampire boys and one girl. The IP is expanded so that readers can directly experience the story’s background, characters, and items offline through Lotte World and the clothing brand SPAO.
Lotte World Transformed by Dark Moon
First, through collaboration with Lotte World, the theme park is dyed in ‘Dark Moon.’ The festival is called ‘DARK MOON WITH ENHYPEN in LOTTE WORLD.’ The main bridge leading to Lotte World’s symbol, the ‘Magic Castle,’ is illuminated with red lights, transforming it into the ‘Dark Moon Bridge.’ At the Magic Castle, a pop-up store and photo wall are set up where visitors can purchase official merchandise using the ‘Dark Moon: Dal-ui Jedan’ IP. The third floor inside the castle is decorated as the ‘D’Celice Party Room,’ where the seven vampire boys from the webtoon hold a birthday party, offering visitors an experience as if they have become the protagonists of the webtoon.
The highlight of the festival unfolds every night at the Magic Castle. A red full moon, a key symbol in the story, is displayed behind the Magic Castle, and the castle’s outer walls are mapped with the ‘Dark Moon Castle’ video, faithfully recreating the webtoon’s background in reality. Simultaneously, ENHYPEN’s OSTs for ‘Dark Moon: Dal-ui Jedan,’ ‘One In A Billion’ and ‘CRIMINAL LOVE,’ are played to provide a deeper immersive experience.
Fashion Items Including Socks and T-Shirts Released
Meanwhile, HYBE is releasing fashion items featuring the ‘Dark Moon’ IP through collaboration with SPAO. There are five types in total, including rugby t-shirts, pajamas, hats, and socks. A mini pop-up will open at the Hongdae AK store on the 22nd of next month to showcase the items for the first time, and the products will also be sold through online channels thereafter.
