EM&I Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with China's Summersprout... Promotes Domestic Supply of OLED Material 'Dopant'
Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) material company EM&I is partnering with Chinese OLED material company Summer Sprout to enter the domestic dopant market.
On the 25th, EM&I announced that it signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Summer Sprout to promote domestic supply. Previously, the two companies participated together in the 23rd International Meeting on Information Display (IMID), held from the 23rd to today, establishing a cooperative relationship.
Summer Sprout is an OLED material specialist company established in 2017 in Beijing, China, led by engineers from UDC (Universal Display Corporation). It develops and produces phosphorescent dopants and P-dopants, supplying materials to numerous OLED manufacturers in China. Recently, it completed a new factory in Taixing, China, with an annual production capacity of 20 tons.
Summer Sprout’s main product, dopants, are used in small quantities but are difficult to manufacture and expensive. As a core material of OLED displays, the technology entry barrier is very high. The company explained that Summer Sprout’s technological capabilities are at a level competitive with global companies such as Germany’s N company and the U.S.’s U company.
