Gwangju Dong-gu Publishes 'Braille Cookbook' for Visually Impaired
On the 24th, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it has published the region's first braille cookbook for the visually impaired, titled ‘Yorijori Cooking Class’.
After being selected in the Ministry of Education's National Institute of Special Education-led contest for ‘Lifelong Learning Cities for the Disabled,’ the ‘Yorijori Cooking Class’ program was created to share recipes with visually impaired residents.
The braille cookbook contains 20 recipes that anyone can easily make using everyday ingredients, helping to improve healthy eating habits.
To serve as a useful guide not only for the visually impaired but also for all residents who find cooking challenging, the book includes both braille and mukja (Korean script), and is expected to contribute to the spread of a healthy food culture.
