Video Powerhouse for Busan Expo Bid... KCCI Studio 'Nemo' Opens
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced on the 24th that it has opened a public studio called 'NEMO' on the first floor of the KCCI building in Jung-gu, Seoul, where short videos can be produced.
The 'NEMO' studio will be used as a video production hub for the 3rd generation Busan Expo supporters, who were selected on the same day, to prepare for the Expo which is about 90 days away.
The exterior is made of glass so that any citizen can observe the video production process. This studio, approximately 66㎡ (20 pyeong) in size, allows for various productions such as news formats, talk shows, and chroma key videos.
The 3rd generation supporters, composed of 50 foreign youths and 70 Koreans, will be active for about four months until early December. They will create online and offline content, share it on their personal social networking services (SNS), and promote the necessity of hosting the Busan Expo until the host city is selected at the end of November.
Woo Tae-hee, the full-time vice chairman of KCCI, said, “The energy and ideas of the younger generation are essential to fill the studio broadcasts with fun and fresh content,” adding, “I hope this passion will meet the efforts of the business community and bear fruit in successfully attracting the Busan Expo.”
Song Seung-hyuk, head of KCCI’s New Media Team, said, “Although many videos have already been uploaded, more diverse forms of Expo memes will be created in a more stable environment going forward.”
