KEPCO KDN Hosts the '2023 Bitgaram Energy Valley Software Competition'
KEPCO KDN announced on the 23rd that it will hold the '2023 Bitgaram Energy Valley Software Competition.'
As a public enterprise specializing in Energy ICT, KEPCO KDN is conducting this competition for the 9th time this year to contribute to the government's policy of 'Talent Development Strategy in Advanced Fields such as Environment and Energy' and to motivate the discovery and nurturing of outstanding ICT talent in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
This year's competition is open to students currently enrolled in general, special, and vocational colleges and universities, graduate schools, and high schools in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas. Teams can consist of up to 5 members (1 to 5 members per team). The competition covers all fields of software projects utilizing new technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data, mobile, and security.
The competition will accept submissions from October 5th to October 2nd, with the first round of judging results announced on the 19th of the same month. After the first round, teams that pass will have a period to implement their projects, followed by the final awards ceremony on November 29th. Entries will be evaluated in the first round based on originality, technical skill, feasibility, and expressiveness, and the final award-winning works will be decided through a second round of judging that includes a presentation (PT) and assesses commercialization potential.

A KEPCO KDN official stated, "To mark the 9th event, we have expanded eligibility to include all high school students in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to discover young people's ideas." He added, "We will continue to support the development of ICT professionals through various methods such as introductory lectures on Power IT and experiential internships, and as a public enterprise, we will do our best to fulfill our role as an Energy ICT specialized company that contributes to social responsibility and value dissemination."
