Hamyang-gun Promotes Customized Support Project for Children of Ordinary Citizens
Operation of English Cyber School for 6th Grade Elementary and Middle School Students in the District
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will operate an English learning support program called English Cyber School for about three months from September to December, targeting approximately 240 local students in 6th grade of elementary school and 1st to 3rd grade of middle school as part of a customized support project for children from low-income families and a global talent development program.
The project accepted applications in two phases for 1st to 3rd grade middle school students in the district, and additional applications on a first-come, first-served basis will be accepted until the 27th for middle school students and 6th grade elementary students for the remaining seats.
The English Cyber School project supports various customized English learning programs, including native speaker one-on-one video classes and online English courses with dedicated learning managers who provide real-time monitoring. The out-of-pocket cost per person is 10,000 KRW per month, with 90% of the course fee subsidized.
Before the full-scale implementation of the project, a preliminary orientation for participating students and parents will be held online via ZOOM at the end of August, providing detailed guidance on learning methods and the upcoming curriculum, aiming to present effective English learning strategies.
Through the English Cyber School project, it is expected to create an environment where students can become familiar with and use English in their daily lives. Additionally, it is anticipated to generate synergy effects by linking with other key initiatives promoted by Hamyang-gun, such as overseas language training for elementary and middle school students and the Kiss Vision project.
