Gwangju Nam-gu to Conduct 'Online Voting' for Next Year's Resident Participatory Budget Projects
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it will conduct the '2024 Resident Participatory Budget Online Voting' to expand opportunities for residents to participate in the budget planning process for next year and to promote projects that are essential to the community.
The voting will be held from the 23rd to the 30th to actively reflect residents' diverse opinions in projects, increase satisfaction, and ensure transparency in financial management.
Any resident of Nam-gu can participate in the voting through Naver Office Form.
The projects eligible for the 2024 Resident Participatory Budget Online Voting are 37 projects that passed the review by the relevant departments out of 81 proposals received during the resident project suggestion contest held from March to June this year.
Most of the resident project proposals excluded during the departmental review were either currently underway or difficult to implement due to election laws and other factors.
Details on how to participate in the online voting and the list of resident participatory budget projects up for voting can be found in the notices section on the Nam-gu Office website.
Each resident participating in the voting can select up to five projects.
Nam-gu plans to finalize the projects by combining 30% of the online voting results with 70% of the Resident Participatory Budget Committee’s review results.
