The Busan International Film Festival explained the planning background, stating, "Indonesia has been consistently presenting works and winning awards at major European and North American film festivals every year, showing significant achievements. The expansion of multiplex screens and the domestic film market share exceeding half have led to the growth of the domestic market. It is also the market that has recovered the fastest after the COVID-19 pandemic."
