"Why Haven't You Paid My Wages?" 60s Man Arrested for Ramming Company CEO's Car After Being Fired
Police to Request Arrest Warrant... "Considering Changing Charges to Planned Crime"
A man who drove a car and rammed into the CEO of the company he worked for in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, causing serious injuries, was arrested by the police.
On the 21st, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 60s, Mr. A, on suspicion of special injury at 7:13 p.m. the previous day and are currently investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of ramming into Mr. B, the company CEO, with his vehicle around 7 p.m. on the 20th at a location in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Afterwards, Mr. A poured gasoline on both Mr. B and himself and attempted to ignite it with a lighter but was caught by the police who responded to Mr. B’s report. Mr. B sustained serious injuries but is reported to be out of life-threatening danger.
The police made an emergency arrest of Mr. A as a suspect at 7:13 p.m., just 10 minutes after the report, and confirmed that Mr. A was neither intoxicated nor under the influence of drugs at the time of the crime.
During the police investigation, Mr. A stated that he committed the crime after being fired and not receiving his wages. The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the detailed motive and circumstances of the crime with Mr. A.

A police official said, "We are considering this case as a premeditated crime and there is a possibility of applying charges of attempted murder."
