During the meeting with Song Eon-seok, the People Power Party's spokesperson on the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee, Mayor Lee explained the key national budget requests for Osan in 2024.
Mayor Lee specifically requested, "Please ensure that the national budget portion of 18.8 billion KRW for the maintenance project of the Central 1 and Eastern sewage pipelines is reflected in next year's government budget."
The city explained that in the three areas of Sinjang 3, Jungang, and Namchon, the combined sewer system causes a rapid increase in inflow during heavy rain, which could damage Osancheon, a national river.
In the meeting, Mayor Lee stated, "Separating stormwater and sewage pipes is essential to secure citizens' health rights and protect Osan's environment," and asked for attention to ensure the final reflection of the project budget for the sewage pipeline maintenance project.
Mayor Lee also visited the office of Kim Hak-yong, a member of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, to explain the necessity of introducing eco-friendly double-decker low-floor electric buses.
The double-decker eco-friendly low-floor bus is an environmentally friendly transportation means that expands commuting transportation rights, guarantees mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable groups, and simultaneously reduces fine dust and improves air quality, achieving two benefits with one effort.
During his visit to the National Assembly, Mayor Lee also emphasized ▲ the inclusion of an alternative route for the heat transport line between Dongtan and Godeok ▲ and the need to realize the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s standard labor cost.
