HiSonic, Achieves Prestigious Global Management Award Victory
HiSonic has achieved the remarkable feat of receiving the Management Award at an international academic conference in recognition of its efforts to normalize management following the change of its largest shareholder last year and its global market entry strategy through the new secondary battery business.
HiSonic announced on the 18th that it won the "Korea Global Management Award" at the "2nd Integrated World Trade Academic Conference." The award ceremony was attended by Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City; Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City; and Park Jong-tae, President of Incheon National University, while National Assembly members Yoon Sang-hyun and Kim Du-kwan delivered congratulatory speeches via video conference.
The Integrated World Trade Academic Conference, held at Incheon National University from the 16th to today, involves participation from over 50 domestic and international academic societies including the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and the Korean Association of Global Business and Trade (KAGBT). More than 600 professors and scholars from 26 countries worldwide attend to exchange ideas on global strategies and business models, and awards are presented to companies with outstanding export contributions and global strategies.
Since last year, HiSonic has continuously pursued management normalization efforts such as securing financial soundness, enhancing management transparency, and expanding the continuity, stability, and profitability of operations. Through these self-help efforts, consolidated sales last year increased by 577% compared to the previous year. Operating profit also turned positive. In March this year, the company succeeded in obtaining a decision from the Korea Exchange to resume trading.
Moreover, HiSonic recently appointed CEO Kim Chan-jong, who has a strong network in the domestic secondary battery sector, to promote its new secondary battery business. HiSonic plans to establish joint ventures with overseas secondary battery parts companies to secure global competitiveness and produce key components and automated equipment that improve battery safety, supplying them to global markets including the United States.
HiSonic intends to improve performance in its core IT components business by increasing the proportion of high-profit items while also pursuing diversified efforts to expand sales. The company explained that it plans to expand the new secondary battery business based on a stable performance foundation in the IT components sector in the future.
