Man in his 60s Arrested for Wandering Residential Area Near Daehak-ro with a Weapon
A man wandering with a weapon was apprehended by the police in a residential area near Daehakro, Seoul.
On the 18th, the Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 60s, Mr. A, at 10:25 PM the previous day on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (carrying a weapon) and are currently investigating him.
Mr. A is suspected of threatening pedestrians while carrying a weapon and wandering about 300 meters in a residential area near Daehakro that day.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I was watching a video on my phone when I heard a loud noise outside the house and decided to kill someone."
The police responded to a resident's report around 9:25 PM saying, "There is a person walking around with a knife, shouting loudly," and promptly arrested Mr. A.
