Yangcheon-gu Holds Integrity Practice Pledge Meeting for Organizational Leaders
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that on the afternoon of the 17th, it held an integrity practice pledge meeting and integrity education for over 260 senior public officials at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center, targeting team leaders at grade 6 and above, to establish a culture of integrity within the organization.
Earlier, in July, the district conducted a survey among public officials below grade 6 without assigned positions regarding what superiors should and should not do, and based on this, promoted a concrete integrity practice campaign called ‘Do’s & Don’ts’.
The survey results identified the following as things to do: ▲refuse external solicitations ▲jointly resolve major civil complaints that employees find difficult ▲refrain from giving work orders outside of working hours.
Things not to do included: ▲prohibit employee evaluations based on regionalism, blood ties, or academic connections ▲prohibit shifting or avoiding responsibility onto employees when problems arise ▲avoid asking for reasons for leave or giving subtle pressure.
At the pledge meeting, two newly appointed leaders as of July 1st this year read aloud and took an oath to the integrity practice pledge, expressing the executives’ commitment to the ‘Do’s & Don’ts’ campaign.
Following this, integrity education was conducted by Park Yeonjeong, a specialist instructor from the Integrity Training Institute, who focused on the theme ‘The Role of Leaders in Leading an Integrity Organizational Culture,’ addressing improvements to habitual organizational culture and prevention of workplace power abuse through case-centered discussions.
