Gominjeong: "Daughter Gathering Order? Excessive Interpretation"... Lee Jae-myung Better Off Going Alone
"Abolition of the Delegate System, Why Now?"
"Taking the Leadership's Mass Resignation Seriously"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is facing his fourth prosecution appearance over the 'Baekhyeon-dong preferential treatment suspicion.' Amid this, an analysis suggests that Lee posting a poster with the time and place of his appearance on social networking services (SNS) is a call for a 'total mobilization of supporters.' Regarding this, Democratic Party lawmaker Ko Min-jung pointed out that it is an "excessive interpretation."
On the 17th, on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' Ko said, "Even without informing them like that, our party members and supporters already know everything. I don't think there is much need to inform them deliberately because they don't know," expressing this view.

Ko said it is better for Lee to appear alone rather than being surrounded by supporters and lawmakers forming a scrum. She said, "If you think about the leader going out alone, at first, it was said that the prosecution risk would shake the party considerably, but by facing it confidently, he rather alleviated those suspicions," adding, "That is a political message and shows confidence."
When asked if appearing alone is better, she replied, "I think so," and said she would not attend Lee's prosecution appearance today.
Regarding the Democratic Party Innovation Committee's proposal to abolish the delegate system, she said, "Why now? And if the current party situation and the national situation were stable, maybe it would be different, but in such a hectic and all-or-nothing situation, why must it be done now like this?" adding, "(The question) remains unresolved."

About the voices calling for the party leadership's resignation at the lawmakers' meeting held the day before, she said, "We must take it seriously," but also added, "Just because people say the president should resign or ministers should resign, it doesn't mean the leadership will resign immediately today. It is a strong challenge that the leadership must show responsible leadership regarding the Innovation Committee's proposals and many controversies."
