Three Suspects Arrested in Chungnam for Posting 'SNS Murder Threats'
Three additional suspects who posted murder threats on social networks (SNS) were recently apprehended in Chungnam.
According to the Chungnam Provincial Police Agency on the 14th, two of the suspects (14 years old) posted a message on Instagram and Facebook around 12:40 PM on the 11th, stating, "On the 21st, a stabbing is planned at 00 Middle School in Cheonan."
The police confirmed the post through a 112 report, launched an investigation, identified the poster, and arrested them.
Earlier, Mr. A (22) is suspected of posting a message titled "I have to kill someone" on an internet community site bulletin board at 10:07 AM on the 5th. Mr. A was also tracked down and arrested following a 112 report from someone who saw the post.
All three suspects reportedly told the police that "they made provocative statements as a joke to attract public attention."
The Chungnam Provincial Police Agency plans to conduct digital forensics on the suspects' mobile phones to determine their motives and whether there are any additional criminal acts.

Meanwhile, since the special security operations against weapon-related violence began on the 3rd, a total of six suspects have been arrested in Chungnam alone for posting "murder threat messages" on SNS.
