Two-Week First Half New Employee Training Conducted for 378 Newly Hired Employees
President Baekho Emphasizes the Secrets to Organizational Success Learned Over 30 Years in Public Service... Seoul Metro (President Baekho) conducted a two-week first half new employee training starting on August 7 for 378 newly hired employees.
The recruitment process for new employees began with a job announcement on May 16, followed by a written test, personality test, and interviews, culminating in the announcement of the final successful candidates on August 3.
Due to COVID-19, new employee training had been conducted remotely since 2020, but this year it was held in-person for the first time in four years, raising high expectations among both company staff and trainees.
The opening ceremony welcomed new employees with a congratulatory performance by the in-house rock band ‘Metro Mania’ and a welcome video in the form of a music video featuring employees from various departments and age groups.
The president and executives also attended, breaking away from conventional events by presenting acrostic poems they prepared themselves and taking group selfies, creating a casual atmosphere for open communication with the trainees.
Additionally, President Baekho shared the secrets to organizational success he personally learned over more than 30 years in public service, emphasizing the importance of networking skills for acquiring information and building relationships within the organization, basic work skills such as organizational management and report writing, and the innovation ability to find improvements through a fresh perspective free from fixed ideas.
New employee Choi Hayun, who joined in an administrative role, said, “I was very happy to join Seoul Metro, and during the training, senior employees gave valuable advice on attitudes toward work and how to spend leisure time after joining. It was very helpful in planning my future career.”
The newly hired employees will receive theoretical training from August 7 to August 14, followed by three days of on-site practice from August 16 to 18, after which they will be officially appointed.
