Authorities Release Identities of 4 Deceased and 1 Injured
Possibly a Korean Family Based on Full Name Estimates
On the 9th (local time), a mass shooting involving a family occurred in a suburb of Chicago, USA, drawing attention due to the possibility that the victims and perpetrator were of Korean descent. The incident took place at a residence in Crystal Lake, McHenry County, Illinois. The local coroner's office announced on the 10th that it had released the names and ages of the four deceased and conducted autopsies.
The deceased include women in their 30s, 40s, and 70s, and a man in his 40s. All share the same surname. Considering the full names of the family members and personal information disclosed on social media, it is likely that the family is of Korean descent with one white spouse.

The police have not disclosed the identity or current condition of one injured woman who reported the incident. However, they announced that all five individuals involved?victims and perpetrator?were family members. They estimated that a family dispute escalated into a mass shooting, with a man in his 40s shooting and killing four family members before apparently taking his own life. The motive and detailed circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
When police arrived at the scene, three women were already deceased. One woman and one man remained in critical condition. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where the man identified as the perpetrator soon died.
The location of the incident is a quiet residential area about 70 km northwest of downtown Chicago. Residents, in interviews with local media, expressed disbelief, saying, "It is hard to believe such a thing happened in a neighborhood where neighbors had close relationships and shared peaceful daily lives."
The five individuals involved have reportedly lived together for several years. According to real estate transaction records, the most recent sale of the house was in June 2013.
