Mongolia is experiencing rapid desertification due to climate change, and the intervals of the 'Zud,' a severe cold spell with temperatures dropping to minus 40 to 50 degrees Celsius lasting more than ten days, have shortened, making it impossible to raise livestock, which is their means of livelihood. As a result, 'climate refugees' are leaving their hometowns.
To support them, the foundation donated over 6,800 pieces of winter clothing from Black Yak, the outdoor brand of BYN Black Yak Group. These items were delivered to school-age children who are climate refugees in Mongolia through the Africa Asia Refugee Education Support Association (ADRF) to create an environment conducive to focusing on their studies and to help expand educational opportunities.
